Kaos Softwear is the creation of founders Jesse Jarrell and Steve Haworth. They started researching the idea of using silicone for jewellery in the late 90’s and soon began production of the first ever flexible eyelets which were introduced to the body jewellery industry in 2002.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Kaos Softwear specialises in the production of the world’s most flexible and comfortable, premium silicone body jewellery.

Since our humble beginnings, our jewellery has been engineered, manufactured and prepared by people immersed within the body modification community and from varied backgrounds and subcultures. This guarantees to our customers that they are receiving a product that we didn’t just manufacture, but a product that conforms to the quality standards that we hold for our own personal adornments.

By being a part of the culture we serve, we pass that passion and insight along to our customers so that they receive a product that we care about and have built our lives upon.

Kaos Softwear takes great pride in offering a product made from implant grade silicone that is completely bio-compatible. All materials are obtained and manufactured within the United States to create the Kaos Softwear product line. The materials that we use are batch tested and have Material Safety Data Sheets that we keep on hand at our facility, which are always available to our customers. Kaos Softwear Body Jewellery meets government safety guidelines in accordance with California Prop 65 and current regulations restricting the use of lead, phthalates, and cadmium.

Shipping Info

All NZ orders are dispatched via CourierPost overnight shipping, orders are dispatched within 24 hours, this applies to weekdays only. Delivery target is 1-3 working days. If your order is urgent please don't hesitate to get in touch and we'll get your order out to you asap.

Why Are Earrings Sold Individually?

All plugs and tunnels - unless explicitly stated otherwise - are sold individually. This is because a lot of our customers either have a single stretched ear, ears at 2 different sizes or multiple stretched piercings.

The reason all of our photos have a pair shown is so that you can see front and side pics at a glance, we realise some pics are both from the front, this is for consistency if we can't get a good side shot. We keep in mind that most people have a preference as to single flare, double flare or screw back plugs & tunnels.

We're also not the sorts to try scrounge every last cent out of you guys hence not forcing you to buy 2 earrings at once. The earrings we sell as pairs are done so due to being matching (ie a left and a right), super limited styles or last available pairs.

Compostable Packaging

We use an amazing kiwi company called r3pack for our packaging. Our courier packs & eco wrap - the neat brown bubble wrap alternative that you get - are home compostable. Our little holographic bags that jewellery come in aren't compostable, but they're so cute we'd love if you'd reuse them. If you ever receive bubble wrap it's because you've ordered something super fragile, all bubble wrap used is reused from deliveries we've received, we'd love if you give it a third life instead of sending it to landfill.
