How Body Jewellery is Measured
- Gauge (Thickness): This refers to the thickness of the jewellery shaft. A smaller gauge number means a thicker piece of jewellery (e.g., 14G is thicker than 16G).
- Length: The wearable part of a barbell or curved bar is measured as the internal distance between the balls.
- Diameter (Rings): For rings (like captive bead rings and seamless rings), the size is measured by the internal diameter—the distance inside the ring.
